Supervision Services

Individual Supervision

Clinical supervision provides supervisees with an opportunity to build on existing skills as well as expand and learn new things within a confidential, supportive and safe environment. The agenda for supervision is set according the career stage and individual needs of the supervisee.

A new graduate will want to focus on learning more about evidence based focussed psychological approaches. An accomplished  clinician, with many years experience, will more likely, want to focus on an open discussion of clinical issues with a peer. We recognize that each supervisee is unique, and supervision is tailored to each individuals clinical supervision needs.

Group Supervision

Group supervision has different qualities to that of individual clinical supervision. Although clinical issues can be raised within the group, content is shared, to meet shared goals, and hence the focus is more on the educative. Group supervision creates a supportive professional environment that enhances team building and mutual trust between participants.

Its a way of working through organisational goals and workplace issues, supporting one another as well as contributing to possible workplace solutions. Confidentiality about the content discussed is a must, as is ample opportunity for everyone to participate. Traditionally group supervision is over 2 or more hours, every month.

Ministry /Pastoral Care Supervision

Supervision has been recognised by churches as an important way to support and enhance the work of Pastoral Care workers , Chaplains, and Ministers. With increasing deterioration in mental health, a breakdown in social cohesion combined with pervasive loneliness, there is a massive demand from Christian Ministers, Chaplains, and Pastoral Care workers to help meet the need.

To bring hope, love, compassion and kindness. Supervision supports this work, encouraging the necessary self care to avoid the real possibility of compassion fatigue and burnout. Supervision is a confidential, non-judgemental, resource focussed and educative. It seeks to build up and support. Regular (monthly) supervision has been shown to have significant personal  psychological and health benefits as well as obvious professional benefits.
